Can I use a LAKS Wearable? You need to have an active account and a mobile banking app with one of the participating banks.

After receiving your order, your LAKS Wearable can be started in your mobile banking app with the enclosed activation code. Before the activation the LAKS Wearable cannot be used for any payment process. Thus LAKS Pay ensures the protection of your sensitive data. Should your parcel gets lost in transit, it cannot be used by third parties to misuse your data.
You activate your LAKS Wearable with the included activation code in your Mobile Banking App, only then you can start paying. Please note that the activation process may vary depending on the bank.
Some LAKS wearables require you to insert the payment card first. For this please read the instructions for use.

Contactless payments are based on a signal generated by the payment terminal. This is possible through Near Field Communication (NFC). This is a radio technology with a relatively short range. The wearable and the payment terminal should therefore be as close as possible to each other during the payment process. LAKS Pay has taken advantage of the passive mode of NFC technology, so the LAKS wearables themselves do not generate a return signal. This is because active NFC readers (payment terminals) are used to read passive transponders (LAKS Wearable card).

Payment process

Please check where the payment chip in your wearable is located and hold this part of the wearable to the payment terminal. Similar to the process of contactless payment with your debit or credit card, you must hold your LAKS Wearable to the contact point of the payment terminal – look for the contactless sign on the terminal. Only then the signal can be recognised. A detailed description of this procedure is enclosed with your order. With less sensitive payment terminals this may take a few moments. If the payment process is successful, you will be notified – depending on the terminal – by a tone or a green light.
The LAKS rings (Ring2Pay) are waterproof and the Key2Pay – except the Key2Pay MINI (made of genuine leather)  are waterproof. The rest of LAKS Pay products should be taken off when swimming, showering or bathing.

FAQ on security and privacy

Your (data) security is the greatest concern of LAKS Pay. Neither data about your account nor about your payment transactions are stored. Your data is protected by the highest security standards, because all LAKS Pay products are certified and standardized by Mastercard®. In order for your LAKS Wearable to meet the standards of Mastercard, Bancontact, Manage-Mii and your bank, the following procedure is necessary: Before your LAKS Wearable can be sent to you, it has to be personalized. During this process your card data will be linked to your Wearable. This way LAKS Pay makes it possible that only you have access to your personal LAKS Wearable. Third parties can neither use your LAKS Wearable nor view payment transactions on your personal account. For final activation, a security code will be sent to you with your order. Only when you enter and confirm this code in your personal mobile banking app, you can pay contactless with your LAKS Wearable.

Your (data) security is our greatest concern. LAKS Pay does not store any data about your bank details or payment transactions. Your data is protected by the highest security standards of Mastercard®. LAKS Pay only uses your name, phone number and delivery address to guarantee a safe and successful delivery. Account information The process of connecting your LAKS Wearable to your debit card and/or bank account is done through the certified mastercard and Bancontact partner. DIGISEQ is the interface between Mastercard and/or Bancontact and your bank and is equipped with highest security regulations and certifications. LAKS Pay has no insight into all activities of your LAKS Wearables or your account information. The payment processes are carried out exclusively by your bank.
The LAKS Pay technology enables contactless payment via NFC. NFC is also used with common debit or credit cards and therefore does not represent a security risk.
Wearing the chip generates neither radiation nor vibrations that can affect your body. This is because LAKS wearables use the passive mode of NFC technology. Active NFC readers (payment terminals) read the passive transponders (LAKS Wearable card). LAKS Wearables do not generate a return signal themselves and therefore do not pose a risk to your health.

FAQ on returns

If you need a different size you just need to send it back to us. You will get a voucher for a new order. If you receive your LAKS Wearable and the design you want does not match your idea then the LAKS Wearable can be returned within 14 days. However, a fee of 20 Euro will be charged. Why? Before your LAKS Wearable can be sent to you, a personalization is necessary. Your card data will be linked to the selected LAKS Wearable, thus LAKS Pay allows only you to have access to personal wearable.

LAKS Pay grants a right of return within 14 days from the date of purchase. As every LAKS Wearable is personalised with your data, LAKS Pay charges € 20 in personalisation fees if you wish to return it within 14 days. Before you return a product to LAKS Pay, please follow the instructions here
LAKS Pay offers a 12 month guarantee from the date of purchase. If the purchased goods are defective, LAKS Pay undertakes to comply with all applicable guarantee regulations. If you have a complaint regarding obvious material or manufacturing defects of the goods provided, including damage caused during transport, please return the goods immediately to LAKS Pay.

Delivery FAQs

LAKS Wearables are ready for shipment within 1-3 days. A product is ready for dispatch when it can be handed over to the delivery service – and from this point on it does not take long until your order actually arrives at your door. Your order will be delivered within 2-7 days (due to the currently increased delivery volume within 5-7 working days) after dispatch to your door by the Austrian Post AG. DUE TO COVID THE DELIVERY TIME MAY VARY AND THE CARRIER NEEDS  UP TO 14 WORKING DAYS FOR TRANSPORT.

  • Hver Wearable har sit eget aktiveringsnummer.
  • Hvis du har købt mere end én Wearable, skal du huske, at hver Wearable skal aktiveres separat.

LAKS wearables can be ordered from the LAKS Pay online store at laks.com.
  • Choose and pay for the wearable you want. Please note that you need to link the wearable to a payment card before it can be delivered to you.
  • So remember to link your Nordea Mastercard to your LAKS wearable when making your order. Note that you can only link one Nordea Mastercard, such as Nordea Gold, to one LAKS wearable. The card details can’t be changed later. Please note that a combination card includes two cards. The number of your credit card is printed on the front side of the card. The number of your debit card is on the lower left corner on the back of your card.
  • LAKS Pay will deliver the wearable you ordered by post. Although your Nordea Mastercard is linked to your LAKS wearable, you need to activate the wearable before you can start making payments with it. Once you have received your wearable, activate it in Nordea Wallet.
You can link your Nordea Mastercard “DEBIT” or your Nordea Mastercard “CREDIT”. This cannot be changed by you after receiving the wearable. Step 1: Choose your favorite LAKS Wearable and finish the checkout process. Step 2: Link your LAKS Wearable with your NORDEA Mastercard Click to „Link Wearable “ to start the process. If you have ordered several LAKS Wearables, you have to link each one individually. Confirm email address for Manage-Mii app – you will need the Manage-Mii to manage your wearable During the “Wearable link” process, confirm the email address you wish to use for the Manage-Mii app. The system will suggest the same email address that you used for ordering. Either confirm it or enter a different one. You will receive an email from Manage-Mii – please check your inbox and junk/spam folder. With the Manage-Mii app you can manage your Wearable:
  • You will need to use Manage-Mii to manage your security spend controls as you use your wearable.
  • When you have used your wearable for up to €150 (different per country) it will go into a suspend status and you will receive a notification from Manage-mii.
  • You can then unsuspend your wearable via Manage-Mii.
What to do when “Not authorised for registration” appears or you see only a white screen: If “Not authorised for registration” appears after you have entered your card details, please try using your mobile phone without WiFi. This message appears when you try to link the Wearable with a VPN connection. Step 3: After receipt, please activate your Wearable – you have two options!  Option 1: Open the Nordea Wallet app on your mobile phone. Tap “MORE” – at the bottom of the Nordea Wallet screen and activate your Wearable. If you don’t have the Nordea Wallet yet, download it from your app store.. Option 2: Or you can call Nordea Customer Service on +358 200 70000. For security reasons you must activate your Wearable within 30 days from the day you have linked your Wearable. After the 30 days you cannot activate it anymore. In that case please contact us for further instruction – just open a support ticket.
First you need to activate the wearable. You can do this in the Nordea Wallet app or by calling Nordea Customer Service, tel +358 200 70 000.

Manage-Mii allows you to track the payments you make with your wearable and reset your wearable every time your payments reach a total of 100 euros. The connection to the Manage-Mii app ensures that no one else will be able to use your wearable if you lose it.
Yes. LAKS wearables are secured by the same technology as contactless payment cards and mobile payment apps.
LAKS wearables only work with a Mastercard. You can link any Mastercard issued by Nordea to your wearable, including a Stockmann Mastercard, Finnair Plus Mastercard or Tuohi Mastercard. If your Mastercard is a combination card, you can choose whether you want to link your debit or credit card to your wearable.
You can block your wearable temporarily in the ManageMii app or by calling Nordea Customer Service or the card blocking service.
LAKS wearables work globally with all payment terminals that support contactless payments. Payments with your wearable are based on NFC technology, which enables contactless payments. NFC is commonly used in smartphones, for example, to transfer data when devices are brought into close proximity with each other.
Yes. The same security limits (such as geographical restrictions) that have been set for your physical card also apply to your LAKS wearable.
If “Not authorised for registration” appears after you have entered your card details, please use your mobile phone without WiFi. This message appears when you try to link the Wearable with a VPN connection.
If you see only a white screen after you click “Link Wearable” we recommend:
  • Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge (Win 10) or Safari (Mac)
  • Always the latest version of your browser and without ad or popup blocker
  • Clear your browser cache
  • If various security settings for the Internet in the office or at home are still blocking, then use your Android or iPhone – without WIFI.
Using LAKS Pay is safe. You can pay with your wearable five times or until you have made purchases accumulating to the value of 150 euros. After that you will need to verify your identity in the ManageMii app. Download ManageMii from your phone’s app store, and when you reach the security limit, reset the spending meter in the app. After the reset, you can continue to pay with your LAKS Pay wearable.

FAQ

If your wearable is lost or stolen, act without delay and remove it from KBC Mobile. If your debit card is lost or stolen, be sure to block it immediately in KBC Mobile. Alternatively, you can have your card blocked by calling Card Stop on + 32 70 344 344. Important: as soon as your debit card has been blocked, you will no longer be able to pay using your card and any linked wearables. You can also disable your wearable’s payment function in KBC Mobile if, for instance you’re not planning on using it for a while or you’ve lost your wearable device and think you might find it again.
Please ACTIVATE immediately after receipt ! The activation code that comes with your Wearable is only valid for 30 days from the time it is linked to your account/card.  You can do that in one of two ways.

1. Activate the wearable using KBC, CBC, KBC Brussels Mobile

  • Log in to KBC, CBC, KBC Brussels Mobile
  • Tap Pay
  • Tap Payment method
  • Select your wearable and enter your activation code
  • Tap Activate your wearable

2. Scan the QR code using your phone

  • Use your phone’s camera (iPhone) or an app to scan the QR code
  • KBC, CBC, KBC Brussels Mobile will then open
  • Tap Activate your wearable
